Current Job Openings:

We are currently seeking Full-Time, Part-Time, and Per Diem Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to work all shifts, including weekends (7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, and 11pm-7am). The DSPs will be responsible for promoting a safe and healthy learning environment for individuals, assisting with their independent living skills, advocating on medical appointments, initiating and following through on community and leisure time activities, supervising and assisting in medication administration, maintaining home cleanliness, and assisting with cooking, cleaning, and laundry.

Additionally, DSPs will be required to attend to all personal care needs such as toileting, dental hygiene, bathing, feeding, repositioning, lifting, and transferring individuals who utilize wheelchairs. They will also be responsible for maintaining accurate ISP data in Therapy according to Medicaid standards, maintaining all necessary training including CPR and First Aid, attending staff meetings as required, and completing all other tasks as assigned. We are currently seeking Full-Time, Part-Time, and Per Diem Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) who will be responsible for providing nursing care to individuals requiring specialized protocols such as wound care, feeding tubes, and more. The LPN will also provide independence skill training to group home residents under the direction of the Residence Manager. Additionally, they will be responsible for completing and reviewing all communication and client logs in the program. The LPN will ensure that the program is cleaned, organized, and disinfected according to OSHA/DDD guidelines. They will also provide safe transportation to all individuals in a facility-provided program vehicle, accompany and advocate for clients on medical appointments, assist individuals in nutritional food preparation and adhering to specialized diets, and attend to all personal care needs.

The LPN will document medication administration accurately on Medication Administration Records, reorder and discontinue individuals’ medications according to doctors’ orders, and document accurately on MARs and communication logs. They will supervise the self-help skills of individuals and provide the least intrusive assistance if necessary. Additionally, the LPN will assist with all feedings or provide supervision during mealtimes as required, complete accurate documentation in the Electronic Health Record (Therapy) on every shift, and provide necessary First Aid and CPR to individuals in need. Our residential programs are homes that are settled in various communities throughout suburban North Jersey. Each home is custom-suited to its residents, their abilities, needs, and personalities. Avidd strongly believes in fostering independence and teaching life skills.

We are actively seeking a Full Time Residential Manager for our residential home serving individuals with physical, intellectual, and developmental disabilities in Morris County.

Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree preferred, High School Diploma / GED required.
  • 5+ years of group home management experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the IDD community and services.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to undergo pre-employment requirements.

Role of a Group Home Manager:

  • Supervise and train all staff to ensure completion of their duties.
  • Create and manage the staff schedule.
  • Attend to the physical welfare of the individuals served including but not limited to transporting to medical appointments, administering individual’s medications in accordance with the prescription, and addressing & reporting accidents, incidents, and/or behaviors as needed.
  • Attend to all personal care including but not limited to toileting, dental hygiene (brushing and dental flossing if necessary), bathing, re-position, lifting and transferring any individuals who utilize wheelchairs when necessary.
  • Be a contributing member of the IDT and attend ISP meetings.
  • Coordinate recreational programs.
  • Completion of monthly fire drill reports.
  • Oversee the financial running of the home, petty cash, and individual’s Personal Needs Accounts.
  • Report and coordinate all maintenance needs.
  • Complete individual’s census and attendance records.
  • Review Electronic Health System data daily for completion and accuracy.
  • Be on call and responsible for handling all emergencies and staffing issues.
  • Ensure that the house programs and physical environment provide a safe, enriched, and respectful atmosphere for the consumers in accordance with DDD Licensing Standard and Avidd Community Services of NJ Policies and Procedures.

We are actively seeking a Full Time Assistant Group Home Manager for our residential homes serving individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities.

This position assists the Group Home Manager in the supervision of staff, provides care to the clients based on their level of need, reviews MARs and Electronic Health Record ISP data, and assists in the running and managing of the physical home. Therapy experience is a plus.

Salary is based on education, previous experience, and training.

What We Are Looking For?

We are seeking a 1-2 part-time Job Coach/Employment Specialist. We are currently hiring for our Transition Program serving individuals 14-21 years of age with developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Lead Student Intern Workshops using Avidd Pre-ETS curriculum.
  • Monitor student intern’s work schedules and timesheets.
  • Worksite development and liaison between Avidd and community employers.
  • Liaison for student, guardian, and employer.
  • Documentation of services.
  • Assisting students with transportation needs.
  • Schedule flexibility is a must, required evening or weekend hours based on the program’s needs.
  • Must be able to work 3-4 days a week in the afternoon/ evening with Saturdays included.
  • Must be willing to travel to Bergen and Morris Counties.
  • Typical hours of work 1:30 pm-8:30 pm (subject to change).

Qualifications:

  • Minimum associate degree in Human Services related field from an accredited college.
  • Three years experience working with the DDD population.
  • Bogg Center Employee Specialist Foundation Training is required within 90 days of hire.
  • Understanding of DVRS and Pre-Employment Transition Services preferred.
  • Experience with transition for 14-21 years old. Youth is a plus.
